Victim-Centered Prosecution

As a career prosecutor, I have noticed that the focus in our judicial system has shifted more towards social justice for defendants instead of justice and restitution for victims whose lives are impacted by crime. As District Attorney of the 11th Judicial District, I will work hard for victims to bring them justice by holding defendants accountable for their actions. I will build strong relationships with each law enforcement agency to keep every community and rural area in the 11th Judicial District safe.

Serving My Community

I am a Fremont County native, a graduate of Florence High School, and a Canon City resident. I have spent more than half my life living and working in the 11th Judicial District. My ancestors were Custer County pioneers, and I come from a family of military veterans and community servants. Like them, I believe serving the community is the highest calling in a career. My community involvement includes:

• Faculty for law enforcement academies
• Referee, coach, and site manager for youth sports
• Volunteer judge for moot court
• High school and college basketball official for 24 years.

Experience Matters

I have worked as an attorney for 29 years, and I have served as a prosecutor for 27 years. During my career, I have prosecuted every type of crime and provided justice to hundreds of victims. I have prosecuted multiple homicide cases where defendants received life sentences, and I have been on numerous critical incident crime scenes. As a managing prosecutor, I have trained and supervised dozens of attorneys. I have been an ethics instructor for the Colorado District Attorney's Council and received statewide recognition as Faculty of the Year in 2017. As DA for the 11th Judicial District, I will retain and build a fully staffed, robust team of attorneys and strong office staff to serve all four counties in the district. My office will have dedicated liaisons to all law enforcement agencies, and I have the leadership to establish these connections.
